Maui Snorkeling Guide eBook
Learn Which Overcrowded,
Destroyed Reefs To Avoid
The Maui Snorkeling Guide comes directly from our in the water experience at each location.
In the past we have been very frustrated with the information available for snorkelers in Maui. There are many locations that are recommended that are very unhealthy or dead. And many websites lead visitors to think they have to pay for boat tours to snorkel. So we set out to create a highly detailed Maui snorkeling guide, that is 100% snorkeling focused, to help you easily plan your snorkeling adventures and find the best spots, with the greatest ease.

"Really liked the book. Really helped with identifying which beaches to visit on
a 7 day trip. Our problem was we had one day of rain and 3 days of high winds
so we only snorkeled 3 days. But you guys were right on with your descriptions
and analysis of the beaches we visited. I would definitely buy another of
your eBooks." - Rick - April 2012
Read more below for an extensive look into the guide.
Much More Than A Sentence Or Two About A Snorkel Spot
Most Maui travel books and sites provide just a sentence or two (or at most a paragraph) of information about a snorkel spot. And often it feels to us like the authors have not really been there, or they are not actually snorkelers. Not our guide; we are snorkelers, who spend crazy amounts of time in the water. And if anything we may go a little overboard with specific descriptions and pictures of what a site is like and how to get there.
Oodles of Pictures - Above & Below Water
Our Maui Snorkeling Guide has a ton of quality color pictures in it. We include many underwater pictures, to help you get a sense for what a location is like and to get you excited and inspired for what you will see. Also included are pictures above water showing the beautiful beaches, as well as more boring pictures that are very useful to help you find a location, like pictures of parking areas. In fact there are 250 pictures in the main guide, not including maps, and another 104 pictures in our fish guide, for a total of 354 pictures.
Detailed Driving Directions
Hawaii is notorious for lacking street signs. And while Maui is better than some, it still can be a challenge to find many snorkeling spots and beaches. We provide specific driving directions for each and every location. We also include pictures of parking areas and roads that will help.
Great For First Time Snorkelers Also
Snorkeling Maui for the first time is a once in a lifetime experience that can be either great or miserable. We help beginners do it right from the start, with tips for avoiding common mistakes, choosing and using good rental equipment, and finding safe spots to learn.
Save Tons Of Money - Go From Beaches - Not With Boats Tours
If you've searched the web for Maui snorkeling you may be thinking that you have to book a boat tour to snorkel on Maui. That is because the first four pages of search results are almost all boat tour companies, and booking companies who make money on boat tours. The truth is you really don't need them. The majority of the best snorkel spots on Maui are accessible from the shore. We only suggest a couple of spots that you need to take a boat to. This will save you a bundle and will make it so you can snorkel on your own schedule.
Do you want to spend even half a day of your vacation snorkeling unhealthy or dead spots like this popular one below?

Or you would rather snorkel a spot like this?

Or see all the fish and beautiful coral here?

Or a turtle nestled in for a rest in this wall of coral?

Or checkout a cleaning station at this stunning coral head?

Recent Maui Snorkeling Guide reviews:
"I particularly liked the cautionary approach. Snorkeling is easy and wonderful
but knowing about currents, best entry points, ways to ensure safety, tips on
face masks, etc. were extremely helpful and made our experience stress free."
Kathryne - April, 2012
"The best part, besides the obvious descriptions of the locations, are the photos
describing access and parking at the site. It really helps the non-local
orient themselves and ensure they are at the right spot."
Iggy - April, 2012
"This guide is wonderful! The maps, the parking and entry tips, the listings of what you'll see in that spot and the photos to back it all up. Fabulous work, thorough and detailed, nice big print and lots of clear photos. My husband and I are so impressed. Even the trade winds map, so basic for the inundated..."
Ellen - December, 2010
"Your love for snorkelers and people in general
shows through in all of your advice in that you REALLY want them to stay safe
and aren't just trying to sell a book...I gave you my first impression but my second is you guys are unbelievable. You have some of the most detailed descriptions and photos I've ever seen...The best part is the fact that you don't have long, drawn out descriptions but you're straight to the point with pictures to show about the area AND even the fish and other creatures and coral there...Also, telling the best places to get into the water helps me tremendously because I'm not graceful getting in and out as it is. The first part of the book will be great for beginners and even though I've been snorkeling for a while (but not an expert by any means), I picked up a lot of good stuff I wasn't sure about. The photography tips and equipment guide are all great..."
Susan - December, 2010
I wish I'd had this guide ten years ago. My wife and I have made five Maui trips in the past ten
years and have explored and learned something new each year. Each time we
learned stuff the hard way....and slowly. This guide allows you to skip the "school of hard knocks" and helps you to optimize your time on the Island.
The guide identifies all the best snorkeling spots and evaluates them so that
you can choose which area to invest your time into....and then provides
directions, tells you what to avoid, and where the snorkeling is located within
that location. For instance, Napili Bay is huge and I've never found
anything under the water there other than sand....now I know where to
explore...and plan to this coming June.
In short, this guide will greatly enhance your enjoyment of the trip and is a
must have for first time visitor and return visitor alike.

What Do You Get With Our Maui Snorkeling Guide eBook?
The eBook is 177 pages long. We go into a great amount of detail to help you have a great snorkeling adventure in Maui. The rest of the eBook taps our years of snorkeling and travel experience to help make your snorkel adventure better, from equipment tips, to an underwater photography guide, to a color fish identification guide.
Detailed Location Information Focused On The Best Spots, Not All Possible Spots
The Maui Snorkeling Guide is focused on getting you to the very best snorkeling spots every day of your trip. We describe 25 locations on Maui, many of which are beaches with two or three separate areas to snorkel, totaling 39 specific snorkel spots that we describe.
What Do We Enjoy, And How Do We Evaluate A Location?
We like seeing these things while snorkeling:
- Lots of fish
- A healthy coral reef environment
- Interesting topography
- Clear water
- Appropriate depths for snorkelers
- Reasonably safe conditions and water entrance
In our guide we use a simple snorkel ranking system to help you choose a destination. Five snorkels is our highest ranking. To get five, a location has to have some of all of what we enjoy above.
We All Like Different Things
We know that not every snorkeler is focused on the same things as us. So as an alternative to our snorkel ranking, we also provide an itinerary section that groups locations based on popular interests, like what spots have the most fish or turtles.
For each location we:
Include a 1 to 5 snorkel ranking
- Provide a description of what it is like above and below water
- Tell you where the best entrance to the water is and what it is like with pictures
- Tell you where to snorkel once you get in the water to see the best stuff
- Give you a sense of what you might see, describing the sea life and creatures we have seen there
- Describe detailed driving and parking directions
- Include useful pictures of each location, above and below water, to give you a sense of what to expect.

Want to print the Maui Snorkeling Guide?
Included in this eBook is a completely unique way to both view it on your computer, and to print it in an economical way. At the end of the guide you will find the Easy Print Guide section (Chapter 16). Here we have condensed all of the Maui specific information that you will want with you on your trip in a pure text format, in smaller text (better for reading printed), without any pictures or graphics. This will save you from wasting a bunch of printer ink and paper printing the entire guide. You can of course print the entire guide with pictures and graphics if you desire.
Take the Maui Snorkeling Guide with you
on your
iPad, Kindle or other portable device?
You can also take the entire guide with you on your trip digitally on a variety of portable electronic devices (although the formatting may not be perfect since this PDF is designed to be read on larger screens), including:
- Apple iPad, iPhone and Some iPods
- Android Tablets & Some Android Smartphones
- Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook
Apple iPad, iPhone & iPods are not capable of downloading a PDF directly from the internet without a third party app installed like GoodReader. Unless you have GoodReader, you have to purchase the eBook on your main computer and transfer the file.
Netbooks, Laptops & Android Devices - You can purchase and download the the PDF eBook directly on your netbook, laptop or Android tablet or some smartphones, and read it with Adobe Reader or any Android PDF reader, or transfer it from your main computer.
Kindle - Do not purchase the eBook directly on your Kindle, it cannot download directly from the internet. Purchase the eBook from your main computer, and then transfer it to your Kindle (instructions inside the eBook).
Google Checkout Payment Problem with Portable Devices - Google Checkout when using portable devices has a bug where it will not forward the download email to you. If you are buying the eBook on a portable device, use Paypal, or purchase on your main computer. Or if Google Checkout is your only option email us after your purchase with your order number and we will respond with your download link.
Benefits of an eBook?
Instant Delivery - you can be reading minutes after your purchase, without leaving your house or paying shipping.
- The Most Updated Information - with an eBook, you always get the most updated information we have available. Every time we find an error or we get improvement suggestions, we update our eBook immediately. With a printed book we would have to try and sell out a printing before being able to make updates.
- Higher Quality & Quantity of Information - We could never put as many beautiful and valuable pictures and graphics, nor as much useful written text in a printed guide. The printing costs would be prohibitive. A printed book would always have to be trimmed down for economic reasons, losing value for you. Fortunately an eBook has less constraints, and we can provide you with everything we want to, like the 90 color picture fish identification guide, let alone the other 250 color pictures.
- Lower Cost - If we did offer this complete guide printed, it would have to cost much more because of the printing expenses and shipping costs for such a specific niche and low sales book.
- Web-Like Navigation - Find a subject in the table of contents and just click to be taken to it. Search for a term and quickly navigate to it. There are also many web links included to our website for more information and other websites. This would not be possible with a printed book.
- Less Travel Weight - If you are like us you are already hauling along a netbook or I-Pad or some other Apple I-Something, (not to mention snorkel gear) and not having to haul another bulky guide book with you is great, particularly with what airlines charge for extra luggage now.
- More Support Of Our Work - We receive more of the finances directly with eBook sales, which in turn allows us to write more of these guides. If we had to print this guide and offer it through traditional book retailers we would make pennies on each sale.
How Does Buying An eBook Work?
eBooks are very popular now. The order process is easy and safe. Our shopping cart system is managed securely by E-junkie.com, and payments are processed securely through PayPal or Google Checkout. You can use a credit card and will be able to access your download link shortly (normally within minutes of payment), or if you use an eCheck you will receive your download link after your eCheck clears (3-9 days).
