Bonaire Snorkeling Guide eBook
Where Are The Best Snorkel Spots
After The Recent Storm Damage?
An Honest Guide From Personal Experience
This Bonaire Snorkeling Guide eBook comes from our in the water experience and research. It is the only snorkeling specific guide available for Bonaire. The other written guides we have found about Bonaire appear not to be written by snorkelers (diving guides with the term snorkeling thrown in), and don't reflect recent conditions. Because the truth about Bonaire is there have been two storms in the last ten years that have done a lot of damage to the shallow snorkeling areas.
It is still a magnificent snorkeling destination, and you should definitely go, and with this guide will find enough wonderful snorkeling spots for weeks of fun.
"...the Bonaire book saved our trip to Bonaire last year. After a week of
checking out site after site and finding nothing but hurricane destruction, I
found your book. It saved our trip!"
Cathy - April, 2012
I downloaded your guide before going to Bonaire in July. Best thing I ever did. Like you, my wife & I snorkel but have never had the desire to scuba. I tried asking around for tips, but divers tend to treat snorkelers as lower class citizens (which may be true, but don't treat me that way). Anyway, your guide became our bible. So much time is wasted when you don't know your way around. Whether you're lost or simply miss out on something you didn't know about. Took most of your advice & had the best snorkeling ever. Thanks."
- Ken - Sept, 2011
"The guide to snorkeling in Bonaire is essential if you want a great snorkeling trip.
Their tip on getting into the water from the beaches is worth the price of the book."
Howard - April, 2012

Read more below for an extensive look into the guide.
If you only use the shore diving maps and guides available in Bonaire you will waste days snorkeling locations that used to be good but are now a wasteland of dead corals. No need. We did it for you. We scoured Bonaire getting in the water everywhere, so that you only need to snorkel the best spots.
Do you want to spend even one day snorkeling spots that look like this often recommended location?

Or do you want to find the spots that are still magnificent to snorkel, like this?

And this...

And this...

More Bonaire Snorkeling Guide Reviews
Wow!! I just read your ebook and I think it is incredibly complete and well made.Thank you very much for making this guide. I look forward to going to Bonaire!
Maryse - Jan, 2012
"First, your guide is perfect and spot on. Your directions were very understandable as to where to park and where to go in. Loved all the detail. Best snorkel book I have read for being clear, concise but covering a lot of detail and subject matter."
Susan- Sept, 2010.
"...my wife and I love Bonaire (visited 20 times) and its underwater world, and many of the friends we have made while going to Bonaire are snorkelers. Your e-book is a great piece of work because it helps snorkelers find where the snorkeling is good, and as you say, that is not necessarily where the diving is good... Thank you for the effort you put into your e-book."
Mark - Nov, 2010
"Hi my name is Susan and
my boyfriend just purchased your snorkeling guide today! Wow...I'm
blown away by all the information you provided. You definitely thought of
everything! Thank you for compiling & sharing all of this information! We were just discussing how much time and energy you saved us by having everything we need to know in one spot."
Susan - Feb, 2011
"Hi Galen and Nicole, we just got back from a week in Bonaire. We used your guide like the bible. My wife
kept telling me to read the e-book, and I kept putting her off then came the
snorkel sack you recommended in a UPS box, starting to get the hint, then I see
the printed pages on foggy masks and what causes them, and the heavens
opened up. I was hooked... Anyway, kudos to your book, best Caribbean book we ever bought and I
should know, we've got a library of them...Thanks for everything."
Jeff - Feb, 2011
From the Bonairetalk.com forum:
"I just took a look at the tropical snorkelling ebook and am impressed. My husband and I have done three month long trips to Bonaire, before and after one of the big storms that damaged the shallow corals. This ebook is up to date with information and helpful tips of where to snorkel now..."
Carey - Oct, 2010.
"My husband and I downloaded this e-book and found it very useful and accurate. You can print just the info (no pictures) from a section formatted just for printing and then take that in the car with you for reminders about where to enter each site. We tried most of the recommended sites and appreciated the tips about what to avoid. Even friendly divers sometimes don't understand why a site they found excellent may not be as enjoyable for a snorkeler."

Who are Galen & Nicole?
We are a married couple who loves snorkeling around the world.
But we think the information
available for snorkeler's
kind of stinks.
So we decided to fix it, creating
the type of snorkeling guides
that we want for ourselves. |

It's Different For Snorkelers Than for Divers
The shore maps for Bonaire show about 80 locations you can get in the water. That's ok for divers, because below 30 feet of depth the corals everywhere are fine (the storms did little damage that deep). But for a snorkeler there are only about 14 spots on Bonaire that are still great, and another 13 out on Klein Bonaire. That is enough snorkeling to keep you busy all day long for two weeks, if you know where they are.
What Do You Get With Our Bonaire Snorkeling Guide eBook?
The eBook is 152 pages long. We go into a great amount of detail to help you have a great snorkeling adventure in Bonaire. The rest of the eBook taps our years of snorkeling and travel experience to help make your snorkel experience better, from equipment tips, to an underwater photography guide, to a color fish identification guide.
Detailed Location Information Focused On The Best Spots, Not All Possible Spots
This guide is focused on getting you to the very best snorkeling spots every day of your trip. We describe 14 spots on Bonaire and 13 spots on Klein Bonaire, as well as an easy night snorkel.
What Do We Enjoy, And How Do We Evaluate A Location?
We like seeing these things while snorkeling:
- Lots of fish
- A healthy coral reef environment
- Interesting topography
- Clear water
- Appropriate depths for snorkelers
- Reasonably safe conditions and water entrance
In our guide we use a simple snorkel ranking system to help you choose a destination. Five snorkels is our highest ranking. To get five, a location has to have some of all of what we enjoy above.
We All Like Different Things
We know that not every snorkeler is focused on the same things as us. So as an alternative to our snorkel ranking, we also provide an itinerary section that groups locations based on popular interests, like what spots have the most fish.
For each location we:
- Include a 1 to 5 snorkel ranking
- Provide a detailed description of what it is like
- Tell you where the best entrance to the water is and what it is like with pictures
- Tell you where to snorkel once you get in the water to see the best stuff
- Give you a sense of what you might see, describing the sea life and creatures we have seen there
- Include detailed driving and parking directions
- Show useful pictures of each location, above and below water, to give you a sense of what to expect
- Additionally, for the Klein Bonaire locations, we provide instructions for finding the buoys visually and with GPS way-points.

At the end of the guide you will find the Easy Print Guide section (Chapter 16). Here we have condensed all of the Bonaire specific information that you will want with you on your trip in a pure text format, in smaller text (better for reading printed), without any pictures or graphics. This will save you from wasting a bunch of printer ink and paper printing the entire guide. You can of course print the entire guide with pictures and graphics if you desire.

iPad, Kindle or other portable device?
You can also take the entire guide with you on your trip digitally on a variety of portable electronic devices (although the formatting may not be perfect since this PDF is designed to be read on larger screens), including:

- Android Tablets & Some Android Smartphones
- Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook

Google Checkout Payment Problem with Portable Devices - Google Checkout when using portable devices has a bug where it will not forward the download email to you. Benefits of an eBook?
- Instant Delivery - you can be reading minutes after your purchase, without leaving your house or paying shipping.
- The Most Updated Information - with an eBook, you always get the most updated information we have available. Every time we find an error or we get improvement suggestions, we update our eBook immediately. With a printed book we would have to try and sell out a printing before being able to make updates.
- Higher Quality & Quantity of Information - We could never put as many beautiful and valuable pictures and graphics, nor as much useful written text in a printed guide. The printing costs would be prohibitive. A printed book would always have to be trimmed down for economic reasons, losing value for you. Fortunately an eBook has less constraints, and we can provide you with everything we want to, like the 77 color picture fish identification guide.
- Lower Cost - If we did offer this complete guide printed, it would have to cost much more because of the printing expenses and shipping costs for such a specific niche and low sales book.
- Web-Like Navigation - Find a subject in the table of contents and just click to be taken to it. Search for a term and quickly navigate to it. There are also many web links included to our website for more information and other websites. This would not be possible with a printed book.
- More Support Of Our Work - We receive more of the finances directly with eBook sales, which in turn allows us to write more of these guides. If we had to print this guide and offer it through traditional book retailers we would make pennies on each sale.
